- 32 Active Degrees of Freedom Thirty-two active degrees of freedom plus 8 passive, driven by combined linear and linkage drives, give the fine facial and head articulation that expressive interaction depends on.
- Platinum Silicone Gel Skin Platinum silicone gel skin is described by Noetix as reaching wax-figure level realism, the quality threshold that separates a bionic face from an obvious mask.
- Magnetic, Losslessly Removable Face The face attaches magnetically with snap-locking and supports lossless disassembly, so it can be maintained, swapped or re-roled without damage.
- Expressive Neck Motion Neck pitch of 27 degrees each direction, roll of 25 degrees each direction and yaw of 35 degrees each direction support natural turns, nods and tilts synchronised with facial behaviour.
- Multimodal Perception Suite Two RGB cameras in the eyes, a chest touch screen with its own RGB camera, a linear microphone array and dual-channel speakers cover sight, touch, hearing and speech in one head-and-torso unit.
- Sub-150 ms Expression Mirroring Imitation expression delay is stated below 150 ms and dialogue interaction delay below 1200 ms depending on network conditions — the face reacts almost immediately while speech answers at conversational pace.
Description
The Noetix Xiaonuo Hobbs 3 is a bionic humanoid interaction robot from Noetix Robotics, built around a highly humanoid bionic head with 32 active degrees of freedom. Its design priorities are lifelike expression, multimodal perception and responsive dialogue — it is meant for organisations that need a physical, expressive human-facing robot rather than a screen-only conversational system.
Realism is engineered, not claimed loosely. The skin is platinum silicone gel, which Noetix describes as reaching wax-figure level realism, and the face attaches magnetically with snap-locking and supports lossless disassembly — a practical detail for venues that need to maintain, swap or re-role a face without damaging it. Motion comes from 32 active and 8 passive degrees of freedom driven by a combination of linear and linkage drives, with neck pitch of 27 degrees each direction, roll of 25 degrees each direction and yaw of 35 degrees each direction to support expressive turns, nods and tilts synchronised with facial behaviour.
Perception runs through two RGB cameras set in the eyes, a touch screen with an RGB camera in the chest, a linear microphone array and a dual-channel speaker system. Noetix states human-robot dialogue interaction delay below 1200 ms depending on actual network conditions, and imitation expression delay below 150 ms. The gap between those two figures is the design intent: the face mirrors a visitor almost immediately, while spoken answers arrive at conversational pace.
Published specifications give an approximate size of 40 x 30 x 60 cm and a weight of 10.5 kg, with the single head listed at 2.8 kg — a head-and-torso format focused on face-to-face interaction; no locomotion system is specified. Control runs on Android and Ubuntu, with background debugging and control of free facial point positions, so developers, research laboratories and exhibition teams can script and tune expressions and interaction flows.
Xiaonuo Hobbs 3 is offered as a quote-only product. Units are sourced new through established distribution channels and arrive with the full manufacturer warranty. Robotix Market ships worldwide and coordinates after-sales support with Noetix Robotics' service network; on-site installation and commissioning are not included.

Frequently Asked Questions
It is a bionic humanoid interaction robot for organisations that need a physically present, expressive human-facing robot — display and exhibition work, service and reception-style interaction, customisation projects and human-robot interaction research.
The skin is platinum silicone gel, which Noetix describes as wax-figure level realism. The face uses magnetic attachment with snap-locking and supports lossless disassembly, so it can be removed for maintenance or role changes without damage.
Noetix states human-robot dialogue interaction delay under 1200 ms depending on actual network conditions, and imitation expression delay under 150 ms. Facial mirroring is therefore near-immediate, while spoken exchange runs at conversational pace.
Yes. The control system environment is Android and Ubuntu, with support for background debugging and control of free facial point positions, which is what allows research teams and exhibition developers to script and tune facial expressions and interaction flows.
It is a quote-only product and no price is published. Pricing depends on configuration and destination and is confirmed on request. Units are sourced new through established distribution channels with the full manufacturer warranty; Robotix Market ships worldwide and coordinates support with Noetix Robotics' service network, and on-site installation and commissioning are not included.
