- 0 to 4 m/s Movement Speed A 0 to 4 m/s speed range covers slow, controlled test gaits through to fast running, giving developers room to explore locomotion policies on real hardware.
- 8 kg Effective Payload An 8 kg payload on a 14.7 kg robot is enough to carry a genuine sensor and compute stack, not just a token camera — the difference between a demo dog and a research platform.
- 12 High-Performance Joints Twelve joints with peak torque of 33 Nm and peak speed of 22 rad/s provide agile walking, running, posture control and experimental motion routines.
- Owner-Assemblable Modular Structure The robot is designed to be assembled, modified and extended by its owner like an engineering platform, rather than delivered as a sealed unit.
- 3D-Print-Ready Shell Files Full shell files are published print-ready, so teams can customise the exterior for research, teaching, demonstrations or bespoke projects.
- Open Power and Data Ports Open ports accept cameras, processors, payloads and custom modules, supporting secondary development, custom gaits, gesture control and community-shared movement solutions.
Description
The MirrorMe Black Panther X is an open, industrial-grade quadruped built to be opened up rather than left sealed. MirrorMe positions it as a robot dog that owners assemble, code, modify and extend — a hardware platform for robotics development, education, research and modular field experimentation instead of a fixed-function consumer product.
The mechanics back that up. Twelve high-performance joints, with peak joint torque of 33 Nm and peak joint speed of 22 rad/s, drive a 14.7 kg robot measuring 646 × 368 × 475 mm standing. Movement speed runs from 0 to 4 m/s, effective payload is 8 kg, and the robot climbs stairs up to 18 cm and inclines up to 30 degrees. The 8 kg payload is the figure developers should note: it is what allows a real sensor and compute stack to be carried rather than a token camera.
Openness is implemented at three levels. Mechanically, the structure is modular and owner-assemblable, and the full shell files are published 3D-print-ready so teams can redesign the exterior for their own project. Electrically, open power and data ports accept cameras, processors, payloads and custom modules. In software, MirrorMe promotes secondary development, custom gaits, motion routines, gesture control and access to community-shared movement solutions — the platform is sold with the expectation that its motion code will be rewritten.
Power is 26 to 33.6 V with a standard charger and approximately 1.5 hours of no-load battery life. MirrorMe lists a 12-month core warranty with remote technical support, a technical community, firmware and tuning resources, paid repair options and spare-parts availability — a support model built around a platform customers are expected to modify.
The Black Panther X is offered as a quote-only product. Units are sourced new through established distribution channels and arrive with the full manufacturer warranty as stated by MirrorMe. Robotix Market ships worldwide and coordinates after-sales support with the manufacturer's service network; on-site installation and commissioning are not included.

Frequently Asked Questions
It is an open industrial-grade quadruped robot dog used for robotics development, education, research and modular field experimentation — robotics labs, developer communities, AI and autonomy experiments, sensor integration and demonstration projects.
Movement speed runs from 0 to 4 m/s and effective payload is 8 kg. It also climbs stairs up to 18 cm and inclines up to 30 degrees, on 12 joints rated at 33 Nm peak torque and 22 rad/s peak speed.
Three things: a modular structure the owner assembles and modifies, full 3D-print-ready shell files for custom exteriors, and open power and data ports for cameras, processors and custom modules. MirrorMe also promotes secondary development, custom gaits, motion routines, gesture control and community-shared movement solutions.
MirrorMe lists approximately 1.5 hours of no-load battery life on a 26 to 33.6 V system with a standard charger. Real endurance depends on payload, terrain and how hard the gait is being driven.
